Growing Competition
We hope the growing of the pumpkins and the sunflowers have gone well. The judging of the pumpkins will be held on Sunday 19th October at 11am. The competition is open to all so please bring your pumpkin along and we will measure the circumference.
As you can see from the photos above our sunflower and pumpkin are doing extremely well. Due to the bad weather the pumpkins are a little bit slow but with a lot of feeding and a bit of sunshine they will be ready for October. Go on... try and beat us!
Our sunflower is now flowering which is fine because if your sunflower has finished before the judging pick it and dry it out as its not the highest but the diameter of the head that we measure. It's much easier for you to bring along the head! Let's hope we get more sun before judging on 28th September at 11am!

Sunflower Picture Competition
Come along to the Wirral Food and Drink Festival at Claremont Farm on Sunday 24th and Monday 25th August and join us in the Children's area and, for a nominal charge, grow your own daffodil! We will provide you with your bulb and pot and you can plant it up.
You will also get an application form to enter our daffodil photograph competition. The competition will run until Sunday 29th March 2009. All you need to do is to take a photograph of a daffodil, it can either be your daffodil that you grow or any other daffodil, and either email it to kidz@gordale.co.uk or bring it in store on Friday 27th, Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th March 2009. You will be entered into our prize draw providing we receive your entry by 12pm Sunday 29th March, and if you bring it instore, your photo will be displated on our board and you will receive a FREE bunch of daffodils!
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd position, each receiving a Lindt Easter Egg and a Gordale Gift Voucher! So make sure you get your camera out and get snapping!
