Fun Weekend 2012 Report

Fun Weekend July 7^th and 8^th 2012.

Amazingly amidst the days of torrential rain our Fun Weekend remained completely dry and thousands of people came along to watch and take part in a whole host of exciting activities from bouncy castles to craft stalls. Some of the most popular events of the weekend were Peppa Pig, the amazing Quack Pack and Punch and Judy. For those wanting sedate enjoyment there was food tasting, Birds of Prey, snakes and spiders and market stalls whilst there was also traditional family fun with Beat the Goalie, Hole in One, Coconut Shy and Bobbing Ducks.

The Gordale Coffee Shop ran a Barbecue which filled the air with the delicious smells of onions and meats whilst musical entertainment was provided by a local radio station.

The dog show attracted over a hundred entries and it was a difficult task even for our professional judge to decide the winners of all the classes. Particularly hard was the waggiest tail as everybody was having so much fun the dogs just wouldn’t stop wagging their tails.

Many letters and emails have been received thanking the Gordale staff for organising such a wonderful event and even asking for next year’s date!!!
