Once again the Gordale Wedding Fayre attracted a large gathering of ‘Brides to Be’ this weekend. Brides were able to meet wedding specialists as diverse as chauffeur driven cars, calligraphers, antique china suppliers, wedding cake decorators, bride and groom clothing, beautician, ice cream suppliers, and caterers under one roof. With the addition of the Gordale florist team the prospective bride need travel no further.

An amazing display of orchids at Gordale was attended by orchid enthusiasts and amateurs alike. Specialist growers from all over the country were on hand to give advice on growing and caring for orchids in the home and put on displays that had that WOW appeal. Phalanopsis and Dendrobiums sat alongside Vandas and Slipper Orchids in a range of colours and Pat Wood and the Neston Flower Club gave demonstrations in floral art using orchids. Chris Channon and Sarah Ritterhausen gave talks which were well attended and hopefully created a new band of orchid fanatics.

We have now started to put out our range of seed potatoes. The full range will be on show for our potato weekend on the 28^th and 29^th January.

Gordale was asked to judge ARUP Manchester’s Grass Head Competition. Although the numbers entering were low competition was tough and it was not an easy task. Amidst intense rivalry nothing was too much effort to go to in the hunt for victory.
